Join us for the 10th Annual Stanford Women Winter Welcome!
Chocolate covered strawberries and other delicious desserts will be served.
Keynote Speaker, Dr. Sheri Sheppard, The Burton J and Deedee McMurtry University Fellow in Undergraduate Education and Professor of Mechanical Engineering.
Hosted by Cap and Gown, Women Leaders at Stanford, and supported by the Schools of Humanities and Sciences, Earth Sciences, and Engineering, Dean of Freshmen, WISE Ventures, the Clayman Institute, the Program in Feminist, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and the Women’s Community Center, this event has helped build our community of women at Stanford. As a supporter and member of the community of Stanford women, we invite you to come and help welcome the newest members of our community: freshmen and sophomore women students.
We know that as women, a strong community can make a difference especially when we feel unexpectedly challenged or have faced a setback. Join other women faculty, staff, upperclass students, and alumnae to hear Dr. Sheri Sheppard speak about life and career paths and choices. You are invited to join in discussions, tell your stories, and help make the young women students feel valued. Let them know that ups and downs are part of life and help make each of us stronger. Give them the confidence to reach beyond their dreams. And we learn and grow ourselves as we build our community of strong and vital women!
Faculty and advisors, please invite your students to attend. Alumnae, please invite students you know and friends and colleagues.
