In June 2008, SPRC presented Solar Energy: New Materials and Nanostructured Devices, a popular workshop that addressed the major scientific and technical challenges involved in the development of advanced devices for third-generation solar cells and for other high-efficiency energy conversion devices. A full-capacity auditorium enjoyed presentations from speakers around the world, including Martin Green, Executive Research Director of ARC Photovoltaics Centre of Excellence at the University of New South Wales, and Peter Wuerfel, Professor at Institut fuer angewandte Physik and author of Physics of Solar Cells.
